Adobe Atik Dual Level Kitchen Tap | Review
When it comes to taps most people probably don’t even think twice, and may look purely at price when looking for new taps. But with the latest developments in taps and tap designs, there really is a vast range to choose from; and that isn’t limited to physical developments… Advances in quarter turn valve technology bring a whole new precise level of control to the water flow and an overall improvement in the ease of use of the tap.
When it comes to design and functionality in a modern kitchen, the Adobe Atik Dual Lever Kitchen Tap is perfect. Square only in its design, the Atik offers precise control of water flow courtesy of new quarter turn valve developments. Available in four colours including chrome, brushed nickel, granite black and gloss white; the Atik is guaranteed to fit in to your modern kitchen whatever your colour scheme. With its minimalist planate design this tap goes beyond traditional standards to really provide customers with that contemporary look and feel. But don’t be fooled into thinking this tap is purely physical appearance over practicality, as the Atik really does incorporate the best of both worlds. Complete with quarter turn handle action for precise flow and flow straightener as standard, and 5 years warranty you can be reassured that this is a quality product.
We think the Adobe Atik Dual Level Kitchen Tap is a perfect addition to any modern kitchen with a contemporary feel, without the contemporary price tag, available from around £162 with free delivery.
Review | Caple Shaftsbury Chrome tap
The Shaftsbury Chrome Tap is a single headed tap that has been inspired by traditional designs yet still feels modern and would work well in many different kitchens. It is the perfect choice for people who like an up to date look with a hint of old school design.
With white handled ceramic disks on the taps, the styling is very traditional but the tap is made to look edgy as it has a modern looking lever. The Shaftsbury tap has a monobloc fitting so is suitable for any sink that has a single tap hole and has a quarter turn valve which means it can be used with a double sink.
This tap is available in two finishes; beautiful and shiny chrome and gorgeous unique pewter, and we think both look great. Try the chrome version in a more modern and retro designed kitchen, to work alongside stainless steel worktops, hobs, ovens and sinks.
For those of you who don’t like finger marks showing on your kitchen accessories and appliances, then the pewter tap is the perfect choice for you. Combine this colour tap with your more traditional looking Belfast style ceramic sinks and less high tech kitchen designs, we suggest the Caple Sandown ceramic sink – an extremely modern and functional sink that manages to retain the style and integrity of its earlier classic relative the original Belfast sink.
We think the Caple Shaftsbury Tap S/CRU4/CH is a great tap option. If you are still not sure what style of sink and kitchen to go for, then this tap might just be the inspiration and starting point you require.

Review | Abode Atlas Aquifer Water Filter Tap
We particularly like the new water filter tap from Abode, the Atlas aquifer. With a chrome and brushed nickel finish and quarter turn dual lever action, this curved spout tap is ideal for a modern kitchen sink. It will go exceptionally well with an inset granite or ceramic sink and as the spout swivels it can be used on a one and a half or two bowl arrangement.
The tap operates on a minimum of 0.3bar of pressure so it can easily have a place in a modern kitchen where the mains pressure is quite low, or your supply is not on the mains.
We love the fact that it has the extra functionality allowing it to be attached to a replaceable filter giving you pure clear water every time. If you are in a hard water area this could well be the tap for you.
At just under £200, we found a great example of the Abode Atlas Aquifer Water Filter Tap for just £199.99 at Appliance House, we love the look, feel and functionality of this great tap.
